Festool's Kapex mitre saws are an institution among woodworkers

If you want an extremely accurate and durable mitre saw whose dust extraction genuinely works, many consider the Kapex the best saw for the job.

Cordless mitre saws have been available from other makers for some time; now Festool has its own version ready too, under the model designation KSC 60. The machine is completely cordless thanks to the dust bag supplied with it.

Many have wondered why Festool took so long to bring a cordless Kapex to market, but the reason is simple. Festool does not release unfinished products; every machine goes through a slow but thoroughly German testing programme. You can therefore order the KSC 60 for professional use with confidence, even though it is a new acquaintance.

The saw takes the same batteries as all other cordless Festool machines, so there is no need to buy new ones. Because of its power it is best to use two batteries in the KSC 60, but if necessary it will run at lower power on one. Two 5.2 Ah batteries will last a working day, but if you need maximum runtime Festool has also launched 8.0 Ah batteries.

The machine naturally also has the traditional Kapex strengths, such as:

  • twin-column guidance
  • mitre angles up to 60 degrees
  • a brushless EC-TEC motor
  • a clear LED light on the cut line.

Three configurations are available:

  • KSC 60 EB-Basic
  • KSC 60 EB 5.2 I-Plus
  • KSC 60 EB 5.2 I-UG-Set.
