Ordinary transfer vinyl is PVC, which releases hydrogen chloride under a laser. It corrodes the machine's lens and rails and is harmful to breathe, which is why PVC vinyl must never be laser cut. This film is polyurethane.
The advantage of laser cutting is precision: small text and thin lines survive weeding without tearing. Blade cutting makes weeding slower but the film takes more handling.
