Vellum is the choice that makes a product look hand-made rather than industrial. A white border always gives the sticker away; a translucent ground does not, so the pack reads as if printed directly.
A dark surface shifts the colour, since the ink has no opaque backing. Run a test sheet before a large batch if the surface is not light.
