An infrared laser is useful because it marks metal with no preparation — but it passes straight through most plastics. This sheet extends the infrared module's reach to acrylic, so one machine covers both.

Note that the infrared module engraves but does not cut acrylic. Cutting requires a diode or CO? laser.

Acrylic for Infrared Laser

3 sheets of acrylic that engrave with the 2 W infrared laser too, Pearl White, 3,2 mm thick. Ordinary acrylic is transparent to infrared and takes no mark — this grade is compounded to absorb the energy.
