The Sentinel has one speed, no timer and no remote — and that is deliberate. The single speed is set for the best balance of filtration, pressure and airflow. No timer is needed because filtration is at full effect from the first second. No remote is needed because the machine is small enough to sit close to the air you actually breathe rather than up in the rafters.
The filter is mechanical, not electrostatic. An electrostatic filter loses performance as its charge decays; a mechanical one filters as well on the last day as on the first. The Sentinel is 45 % smaller than the AC400 and fits on a bench, a shelf or the ceiling, with the exhaust directed upward away from the operator.
The AC400 stays in the range as the affordable entry model. The difference is filtration: the AC400 captures 55 % of particles below 2.5 micron, the Sentinel 98 % below one micron. Many customers already upgrade the AC400 with the UK-made 29000 filter — the Sentinel is engineered to deliver the pressure and airflow that filter actually needs.
