Noga minimum quantity lubrication cools and lubricates the cutting edge when machining metal. It is intended for the AceroDuro series and mounts with a single screw.
This is the automatic version: control is by solenoid valve from the software. Cooling starts when the program starts and stops at a pause or at the end, because the function is built into the KinetiC-NC control software.
The brass nozzle is adjusted on a fine thread to suit the material. Closed, only an air jet emerges, which suits plastics; opened, a liquid jet is added and adjusts steplessly. The manufacturer's rule is to cool as little as possible and as much as necessary.
The hoses are stainless steel and the intake carries a fine filter. An ordinary aluminium drinking bottle serves as the coolant reservoir. The system runs on a mini compressor; minimum pressure is 2 bar and the manufacturer recommends 3–4 bar.
Without cooling the cutting edge picks up material when milling aluminium, steel or copper. In those materials cooling cannot be left out.
